The
LMAL 5-stage Colour Management System is the only 5-stage integrated
colour management system available.
Let's review the five stages covered
in the interactive tour.
| Step
One - Calibrating your scanner |
...
Using the supplied, industry standard IT8 target and our
MonacoEZcolor scanner profiling
software we can calibrate your scanner ensuring faithful reproduction
of your scanned photographs and physical design assets. This also
ensures your scanner is accurately calibrated so we can use it to
check what your printer is printing in step three.
| Step
Two - Calibrating your monitor |
...
Using the supplied Monaco Sensor which works hand in hand
with the MonacoEZcolor software.
This special
hardware device fits onto your monitor and plugs into your computer's
USB port.
The Monaco
Sensor is actually
a "colorimeter" which means it has sensors that detect
how much of each colour is being emitted from your screen. The colorimeter
works in conjunction with the supplied MonacoEZcolor
software to calibrate your monitor.
Important : The
Monaco Sensor currently only works with CRT Monitors. An
LCD version is due later in 2002.
| Step
Three - Calibrating your printer |
With your monitor and scanner calibrated you can now close
the loop on colour management by using the MonacoEZcolor
software to calibrate your printer.
MonacoEZcolor
software is the hub of the entire LMAL 5-stage Colour Management
System and works seamlessly to calibrate all of your input and output
devices.
| Step
Four - View your proofs in the correct light |
Once your desktop setup is calibrated you can use the LMAL Portable
Desktop Viewer (PDV) to see your proofs in the appropriate light.
Lighting conditions
(natural, domestic or commercial) make a huge difference to how
your media will look, and could easily be enough to make a client
reject your print media.
You can choose
one of our standard viewers that emulates natural daylight or one
of our deluxe viewers which is switchable between different types
of light.
| Step
Five - Check your press output |
Finally,
the amazing Digital Swatchbook is able to analyse almost
any surface and produce an accurate digital measurement of the colours
present.
You can use this
to capture particular colours you've seen in your environment, to
match colours in a print project to your clients requirements, and
to compare the output of your press to your proofs and originals.
The Digital Swatchbook
has a host of features and applications and is an essential tool
in the professional designer's toolbox.
